Only 4 years to go until they go head to head in Weymouth!
29th at the Europeans Championships
After a windy weeks sailing in Nieuwpoort, Belgium the European Champion was crowned as Sari Multala from Finland. Not very far behind was Harriette Trumble from Guildford and Exeter, a great achievement for a full time student who, for this year only, let her studies take priority.
The week started off very tough, with most competitors using this event as a warm up for the Olympic games. Harriette commented, "I found it very hard to get off the start line in the first few days. Nearly every sailor out there is on the top of their game leading up to the Beijing Olympics but mine game is just starting. Four years from now I will be on top of my game too!" Towards the end of the week the good results started to show through. Harriette now has a short rest before starting her winter training, her friends call it 'hibernating' with all her time spent in the gym or on the water.
After gaining another 1st in her second year in Civil Engineering at Exeter University, Harriette feels relaxed, confident and raring to go as she starts to climb the mountain of winter training and timing is perfect. London 2012 is exactly 4 years away...BRING IT ON!
